MedAI – AI-Based Early Diagnosis Platform for Campus Clinics
Story
Preventive healthcare often starts too late — especially among students who lack time and access to regular medical checkups.
The MedAI Project aims to democratize early diagnosis by using artificial intelligence to detect early signs of illness through non-invasive, low-cost data.
The student team from Johns Hopkins and Stanford is developing a web and mobile-based AI platform that analyzes symptoms, vitals (from wearables), and diagnostic inputs like temperature and oxygen saturation to provide predictive insights.
MedAI integrates with smart devices like Fitbits or Apple Watches, helping college clinics identify early indicators of flu, stress, or lifestyle diseases — all while ensuring HIPAA-compliant data protection.
The next phase includes:
-
Validating the model through university health centers.
-
Expanding to mental health and wellness tracking.
-
Building partnerships with college healthcare providers.
This initiative positions students at the cutting edge of AI for Health, bringing innovation directly into campus healthcare systems.
